Information on Remote Learning and School Updates
Dear SPX Families,
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during our first week closed. This morning, March 18, I was part of a weekly conference call with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and wanted to take a moment to provide some updates and information for everyone.
There is no word at this time on extending the school closure or changing our scheduled Easter break. Standardized testing, which was scheduled to begin on March 24th will be rescheduled by the Archdiocese. We are canceling benchmark testing for 4th-8th grades (these tests are taken three times each year – we are canceling the third round). Unfortunately, the HSA is also canceling Trivia Night, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 27th.
Our goal continues to be to maintain student learning. Teachers are checking emails throughout the day to help assist you with any questions you may have as you help your child complete the assigned work. I understand that this is not an ideal situation for any of us, but I commend all of our parents and faculty and staff for their hard work and efforts to help keep students engaged.
As we move through the next few days I will provide updates as often as possible. If your child is anxious or displaying concerning behaviors due to the change in their routine, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. McKee, our guidance consultant for assistance. Her email address is email@example.com.
At this time, the school remains closed and all staff and faculty are working remotely. Please do not come to the school building.
Thank you again for your patience and support as we move through these uncertain times. Should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Have a safe and healthy week.
Mrs. Jennifer Ripley
